The process

The whole process should take about 6 to 8 weeks from first discussion to receiving the finished piece. However, I can work quickly if it is for a birthday or special gift and my work load is light.

After a discussion a written contract is created and signed. An E-invoice is sent to you and the fee is paid in full, by credit or debit, before I begin the work. Once I have completed the painting I will send you photographs of the artwork for your approval. Once approved, and the painting has fully dried, it is bubble wrapped and can be collected from my studio in Ridgefield CT or shipped for an extra charge.

Client satisfaction

If you feel that you would like me to make a minor alteration to the painting, I can do that at no extra cost. I want you to be happy with your painting. Minor alterations are those that take me less than 1 hour to complete, for example: a slight color change in a specific area or the redo of a detail. If you need any major alterations I will have to charge $100 per hour. ( It is unlikely that major changes are needed.)

Refunds

In the unlikely event that I am unable to create a painting that you are satisfied with, I will keep the painting and return 50% of the fee. After the painting is received I am unable to offer a refund. The same applies if the painting is a gift.

Surface

• STRETCHED LINEN - is lighter and has a slight “tooth” on the surface.

• MUSEUM GESSOED BIRCHWOOD - is white, smooth, strong and completely flat, but it is heavy.

Pricing

I price my work by size rather than time. Doing so allows me to make the work as beautiful as I can without a time crunch. All sales are subject to sales tax which is added to the price of the painting. (CT sales tax is 6.5%)

• 8” x 10” - $330 ( Linen)

• 9” x 12” - $370 (Linen)

• 12” x 12” - $390 (Linen)

• 11” x 14” - $420 (Birchboard / Linen)

• 12” x 16” - $490 (Birch board/ Linen)

• MEDIUM - 2” depth

• 16” x 16” - $590 (Birchboard)

• 16”x 20” - $720 (Birchboard / Linen)

• 20”x 20” - $900 (Linen)

• 18”x 24” - $970 (Birchboard / Linen)

LARGE - 2” depth

• 24”x 24” - $1,200 (Birchboard / Linen)

• 22”x 28” - $1,400 (Birchboard / Linen)

• 24”x 36”- $1,900 (Birch board/ Linen)

• 30” x 30” - $2,200 (Birchboard)

• 30” x 40” - $2,700 (Birchboard / Linen)

Copyright

A word about intellectual property. The way the law works is that you own the physical item - the painting, but I retain the ownership of the image. Therefore I can use the image on my website, social media, any print items that I make for example, my business card or postcards and any press. I can even submit it to an online competition. However, if you prefer that I not do that, let me know and I shall honor your request.
